Fincas and Houses is a registered business with an office in Caceres since 2005. Our objective is to offer a transparent service and support to those interested in buying property in Extremadura. The fact that we are a British/Extremeñan couple allows us to provide an ideal combination of insider knowledge with a sharp awareness of outsider needs, and use that to resolve the difficulties which affect foreigners in their move to Extremadura. Trained in linguistics and in administration, our intention is to take you through the house buying and relocation process as if it were for ourselves. We do not put pressure on clients to buy, rather we show them what there is, tell them the facts and then it's up to them to decide if it's their dream property or not.

WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR VIEWINGS OR FOR INFORMATION

Since we launched the business, we have built up a steady and varied client base: some are re-locators and we have helped them with whatever needs have arisen from buying a car to getting registered at the town hall. Others use their property as a holiday home and we have ensured that their houses are well looked after as well as arranging improvements such as the installation of central heating for example. ALL our clients are more than satisfied with Extremadura, with their properties and with our service. It is not our policy to publish client testimonials. However I am happy to print my own testimonial.


I have lived in Caceres for 4 and a half years now and I would just like to say to anyone interested enough to read:
Spain often deservedly receives bad press when it comes to property, but it is redundant to tarnish the whole country with the same brush. If you avoid the overdeveloped costas, and come to Extremadura or other less exploited areas of the country, you can get the benefit of a selection of affordable properties, a relatively crime free society, with rapidly improving infrastructures, all in a very sunny climate. Of course there is no Benny Hill Bar or line dancing with other ex-pats, and indeed the absence of these features just adds to the quality of life here. As Simon Calder says:

Fincas and Houses advice: always see the property you are interested in in person, the idea of 'internet buying' (see the Guardian-Property 16/07/2008) is extremely risky. Think hard before taking a decision, particularly about the main choice of buying in an isolated location versus buying in a town.


We can (but only if you wish) recommend English-speaking lawyers, as well as official architects and builders in the area. Our fees are stipulated from the outset. Unlike some other agents, we do not offer lifelong friendship as part of the deal, as let's face it, you might not want us to be your friends and vice versa. If a beautiful relationship develops, all the better.


Our PROPERTY MANAGEMENT service is both practical and administrative, covering requirements such as tax declarations as well as, maintenance, repair work and refurbishment projects.
